Star Trek Style Pneumatic Door!

Alex Shakespeare has managed to create his own Star Trek pneumatic door in his home. The build is pretty simple, it consists mostly of a pneumatic arm, guides for the door, a super quiet compressor, an Arduino, and a few IR sensors. This is really pretty cool. We've kicked around the idea of something like this for the Dallas Makerspace for a while now, maybe it's time we got to it!
