This is a sneak peek at the new champion currently in the works, Mordekaiser.
This is a collection of random clips from a recorded practice game (my first with this champion). I am not trying to play competitively. I'm playing super aggressively and not really trying to last hit anything. I did not build his skills in any real order. The object here was to get a feel for him and to show off some of the things he can do. As always, this is by no means guaranteed to be the finished project. This dude is only on the test realms right now and is subject to lots and lots of changes.
The icons for his abilities are placeholders, obviously. His little avatar in game (currently a Shaco) is also a placeholder.
My first impression of Mordekaiser is that he's a little underwhelming. The game recommends to build him as physical DPS, but as you can see in the video, his abilities (which all scale with AP except for Q) are not at all impressive.
His base damage also seems too low, especially for not having any kinds of slows or stuns. His abilities cost health, like Tryndamere, so I figured I would build him damage/lifesteal with a little bit of AS. His passive shield is pretty neat. You can charge it up by using your AOE on minions and it will absorb tower hits.
(Passive): 20% of the damage dealt from abilities is converted into a temporary shield, absorbing incoming damage.
(Active): On next hit, Mordekaiser swings his mace with such force that it echoes out, striking up to three nearby targets, dealing his attack damage plus bonus damage. If the target is alone, the bonus damage is doubled.
(Active): Unleashes a protective cloud of metal shards to surround an ally, increasing their armor and magic resistance, and dealing damage per second to enemies in the cloud.
(Active): Mordekaiser deals damage to enemies in a cone in front of him. For each unit hit, Mordekaisers shield absorbs energy.
(Active): Mordekaiser curses an enemy, stealing a percent of their life each second. If the target dies while under the effect of the curse, their soul is enslaved and will follow Mordekaiser for 30 seconds, unable to attack. During this time, Mordekaiser gains half of their ability power, attack damage, and health.
